2008 Volvo C30

Volvo C30
The all-new Volvo C30 is the smallest and most expressive car in Volvo's model range. The entry-level hatchback is designed to bring younger buyers into the fold. With its solid body and dynamic chassis, it offers a very dynamic driving experience. The new C30 is the only Volvo to offer total freewill through its special Custom Build ordering process. A one-time charge of $300 opens up a staggering array of options, accessories, exterior colors and interior combinations. The Custom Build special orders open up 17 exterior colors and 12 interior color combinations. With so many choices, it will be hard to find any two C30s that are exactly alike, especially when the laundry list of over 30 individual options is considered.

XC70
The XC70 is an offroad-themed version of Volvo's traditional V70 wagon, and both models have been redesigned. The XC70's exterior and interior styling has been revised, and it features a new inline-6-cylinder engine. The front of the XC70 features a new grille that's similar in appearance to the one on Volvo's XC90 SUV. The nose of the wagon is distinguished from the V70 by its bright fog light surrounds and dark bumper cladding.

The XC70 has a 3.2-liter inline-6-cylinder engine that makes 235 horsepower. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that features a manual mode for driver-controlled gear changes. All-wheel drive is standard, and Volvo's Four-C driver-adjustable suspension system is available. Hill Descent Control is designed to keep the XC70's speed at 6 mph when traversing challenging terrain.

XC90
Having undergone a number of updates for 2007, the Volvo XC90 sees few changes for 2008. The midsize luxury SUV has an available V-8 and seating for up to seven. Competitors include the Acura MDX, BMW X5 and Cadillac SRX.The XC90 debuted in 2003 amid doubts about SUV safety, particularly with regard to rollovers. Thanks to an array of advanced safety features - seat belt pretensioners for all seats, side curtain airbags that stay inflated longer during a rollover, and an electronic stability system with rollover mitigation technology - the XC90 largely avoided the concerns that plagued its competitors. More recently, Volvo added swiveling headlights, a rearview camera and the automake's Blind Spot Information System, which monitors adjacent lanes for unnoticed vehicles. All three are optional. Trim levels include the 6-cylinder - dubbed simply “3.2,” as in the engine's size - as well as the V8 and V8 Sport. All-wheel drive is standard on the V8 and V8 Sport; it's optional on the 6-cylinder.
