2008 Scion xD
xD
The Scion xD is a clever new take on the 5-door urban subcompact, with style and flair to match its efficiency and utility. The xD comes mono spec like all Scions. Customers choose exterior color and transmission type, while the only factory option is Vehicle Stability Control with Traction Control. The xD comes with generous and upscale standard features including power steering, windows, door locks and mirrors; remote keyless entry; air conditioning; 4-wheel ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist; a tire pressure monitor system; driver and front passenger dual stage airbags; front seat-mounted side airbags; front and rear side curtain airbags; cruiser control; first-aid kit; and tilt steering wheel with audio controls. Its urban personality is communicated by its wide stance, thick muscular body, accentuated wheel flares and large tires. Other styling cues that set the xD apart include a long and narrow back window, and the Scion family traits-horizontal headlamps, an integrated rectangular lower and upper grille, and turn signals built into the side mirrors.

2008 Scion xB
xB
The redesigned xB looks much like the iconic original; notable upgrades include a substantially larger engine and four additional airbags. With its new engine, the xB becomes a credible competitor for Honda's similarly styled Element.
Toyota's workhorse 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard. It makes 158 horsepower and 162 pounds-feet of torque, a healthy 53 percent increase over last year's 1.5-liter engine. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 4-speed automatic with a manual-shift provision is optional.

2008 Scion tC
tC
The 2008 tC will look slightly different from the 2007 because of changes to the front and rear body pieces. The upper grille is now mesh and the lower one is a lattice-type design. The headlights have black trim. At the rear, the tC gets new brake lights. A panoramic glass moonroof is standard. Side mirrors incorporate turn-signal indicators - a feature typically found on upscale luxury cars. The new tC sounds different, too, thanks to a standard iPod hookup and a Pioneer subwoofer. Generating 161 horsepower, the all-aluminum 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine incorporates Variable Valve Timing with intelligence. A 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual are available.
