2008 Saturn Astra

Astra
The all-new 2008 Saturn Astra brings a decidedly European flavor to the North American compact car market. It is packed with a wide range of standard equipment and safety features, and delivers sporty performance with very good fuel economy. The Saturn Astra is offered in three-door and five-door models, each underpinned by a taut, European-bred suspension that delivers a sharp, responsive driving experience. The Ecotec engine is enhanced with variable valve timing to optimize power output and fuel efficiency. A four-speed automatic transmission is optional on all models.

2008 Saturn Vue Hybrid SUV

Vue
Saturn's Vue SUV is the automaker's second-best-selling model, and now in its second generation, it has been completely redesigned and appears better equipped to challenge the established category leaders. The 5-seat 2008 Vue is available in base XE, uplevel XR, performance Red Line and hybrid Green Line trims.

The front end is much sleeker than before, and the roofline arcs downward slightly toward the rear, where the forward-swept D-pillar lends some sportiness. The front-wheel-drive XE uses a 164-horsepower, 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that drives a 4-speed automatic. All-wheel-drive XEs have a 215-hp, 3.5-liter V-6, while the XR and Red Line feature a 250-hp, 3.6-liter V-6. V-6-powered Vues have a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Aura
Saturn's Aura midsize sedan gains a new base engine for 2008 - a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder - that joins the two V-6s from last year. Electronic stability control is now standard on all V-6 models, and the entire lineup gains standard XM Satellite Radio. The XR includes remote engine start.

The new 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine drives a 4-speed automatic transmission. The entry- level 3.5-liter V-6 also teams with a 4-speed automatic and produces 219 horsepower. The XR, meanwhile, has a 252-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 that's coupled to a 6-speed automatic. The 6-speed has a clutchless-manual mode; the 4-speed does not.
