2008 Ford Focus

Focus
The 2008 Ford Focus brings a bold new look, a refined and flexible interior and a higher level of driving enjoyment to an evolving small car market. Features include Ford Sync, standard side-curtain air bags and fuel economy in the mid-30s. The added power comes from an all-new air intake system and a new cooling system, both of which are designed to improve efficiency and reduce back-pressure in the exhaust. There's also a super-clean, 130-hp Duratec 20E engine that qualifies Focus as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV). The 20E is cleaner than some hybrid gas-electric vehicles. The PZEV engine is required from dealers in California, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine. For orders from dealers in cross border states - Arizona, Connecticut, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island - PZEV Focus models are available as a limited option. The Duratec 20 and 20E are available with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic.

2008 Ford 150

F150
Ford redesigned its F-150 pickup truck for 2004 by giving it a new look, a wider track and new rack-and-pinion steering. For 2008, little has changed beyond the addition of options and packages. The full-size F-150 truck competes with the Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Ram and Toyota Tundra pickups.

Regular cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew body styles are offered. Five trim levels are available: workhorse XL, youth-oriented STX, mainstream XLT, offroad FX4 and luxurious Lariat. A new Lariat package, Lariat Limited, adds 22-inch wheels, a billet-style grille, stainless steel running boards and unique interior upholstery patterns.

A new optional rearview camera mounts in the tailgate handle and displays a video image in the truck's rearview mirror. Ford says the system helps with hooking up a trailer. The system automatically activates when the vehicle is put into Reverse. A DVD-based navigation system is available.

2008 Ford Shelby GT500

Shelby GT500
The current-generation Mustang came out for the 2005 model year, and Ford is keeping it fresh in 2008 with new paint colors, additional safety and convenience features and yet another two versions that trade on the name of legendary racer and car developer Carroll Shelby: the Shelby GT convertible and, in any day now, the Shelby GT500KR.

Forty years ago, Ford fielded a special-edition King of the Road Mustang. Commemorating that model is the Shelby GT500KR, which builds off the strength of the earlier Shelby GT500 with 40 more horsepower from the supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 for a total of roughly 540 hp. Ford Racing upgrades also include a sport suspension, short-throw shifter and a fast rear-axle ratio. A composite hood decreases weight. Look for this one any day now in Ford showrooms.
